Metaverse Music is a site about the world of Music in Metaverses.

At this moment, we are bringing to you the wonderful world of music inside the virtual world of Second Life. We hope to expand our operations in the future to bring the best and the coolest of music scenes from various metaverses across the web.

Metaverse Music was created as a place to learn more about the gems of the musical offerings of the Metaverses. We will review various concerts of a wide variety of genres as well as interview various people involved in the world of Music in the Metaverse!

WHAT WE ARE DOING!!!
We want to be honest in our reviews and thoughts about Music in Second Life, so you will find both positive and negative reviews here on the site as well as some mixed ones. We are not here to hurt anyone. But we do believe in order for SL live music to grow, we have got to be a little bit more honest about how well our performers are doing! There are some really great performers out there, but there are also some really bad ones. We want to give the good ones the support they deserve and we want to let the bad ones know that they aren't as hot as they think and hopefully they will work harder to improve themselves! But we don't want anyone to stop! We just want everyone to grow!!!

But in the end we know it's just the thought of the reviewer who could be wrong too so take it and leave it at that! In the end we do support what everyone is doing here.

HOW WE CHOOSE THE ARTISTS TO REVIEW:
1) We randomly pick venues and artists to review from all sorts of different music groups in Second Life! (Check out list of groups on the bottom)
2) We review a wide variety of music so there's no hiding from us!!!
3) We also attend our concerts in disguise so you don't know that you are being reviewed!!!
4) We are not being paid for by any of these venues and artists that we are reviewing. The only person we don't review is Enniv Zarf since that's me! That would be biased!

MM HOT LIST & MM SUPER HOT LIST (WEEKLY REVIEW)

On the right column at our site is a box with our MM Hot List, the artists whom we are most fond of in recent memories. As an artist is bumped down, it doesn't mean we don't like them anymore. We probably just haven't gotten to them recently. Remember there are hundreds of musicians in Second Life, so we are bound to move around through different circles in order to get to everyone and bring you everything!

The MM Super Hot List is published every Thursday to show you the top 5 musicians we reviewed this past week to get you on your way for this next weekend to check out. Though of course sometimes some of these artists may not actually have a concert going on, but you can still IM them and find out about their next events! Just remember to let them know who you heard them from and give us a little brownie points!

5 STARS SYSTEM

We have implemented a 5 stars system for easy reference. You can read about how it works here.

GROUPS WE SELECT FROM
Our philosophy is that if you are performing publically in Second Life, then you are ready to be reviewed. We pick our artists from the following groups only:

Generally if a musician is really bad, we will only review it once and not continue to review that performer. If the musician is mixed we will give the musician a second or a third look to determine if the problems are being addressed or if it's a pattern of behavior. And of course we will continue on an ongoing basis to review all the good musicians and present them to everyone on an ongoing basis as often as we could.

If you are a musician whom we have given a negative review to and would like us to reconsider you, please feel free to drop a notecard to Enniv Zarf in Second Life. We will do our best to accommodate reviewing you as soon as possible. But keep in mind that if on your second look or third look the issues are still present, it will become increasingly harder for us to return and review you.

We also take suggestions as to who you would like us to review and also if you are an artist or manager, which shows you would like us to review. You can submit suggestions via Notecard in Second Life titled - Metaverse Music Review Suggestion [NAME OF ARTIST]. Write in the times of the performances - at least 5 upcoming ones - so that we can try to make those. If we can't, we will contact you again for more concert information.

OUR STAFF
We believe in what you are all doing as professional musicians in Second Life and as such we want to be professionals music critics. We only hire people with music related degrees or extensive real life music industry experience that qualifies to review all your wonderful music.

Enniv Zarf is the founder of Metaverse Music and is our first music critic. His real life name is Paul Kwo and he has a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Southern California as well as a Master of Music in Music Composition from the University of Southern California. He has been performing in Real Life all his life and have won various awards for both his music performance and his musical compositions. He has also been performing extensively in Second Life for over one and a half years as of this posting. He has worked as a monthly radio movie critic in Real Life also for a Los Angeles station for over 3 years.
